Having already secured a point away at the Santiago Bernabeu, Spurs enjoyed one of their finest European nights with a superb victory over the reigning European champions at Wembley on Wednesday.
England midfielder Dele Alli bagged himself a brace, while Danish international Christian Eriksen scored the third, before Cristiano Ronaldo earned a consolation goal late on.
Having taken apart one of the biggest names in the game, Pochettino feels his side can now compete with the best on the continent as well as domestically.
“We now belong not only with the best in England, but in Europe,” he said.
“What we have to do is move to the next level and that is winning things. We’re pleased, but it will mean nothing if we have not won anything.”
Spurs are now guaranteed a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League and will turn their attentions back to Premier League matters this weekend when they host struggling Crystal Palace at Wembley.
